“Doing Time – Prison Records as Genealogy Resources” presented by Legacy Family Tree Webinars

Scott County Iowa Genealogical Society and the Richardson-Sloane Special Collections Center of the Davenport Public Library invite you to their monthly meeting.

For our August presentation, we will learn about “Doing Time – Prison Records as Genealogy Resources” offered through Legacy Family Tree Webinars. This presentation is presented by Judy G. Russell, a genealogist with a law degree, who lectures, educates, and writes about a wide variety of genealogical issues. The description from the Legacy Family Tree website states, “The brickwalls of a family tree are no match for prison walls. From intake photo to receipts for cash and clothes when they were released, prisoners in jails and prisons were recorded and documented, often in stunning detail. Learn what records may exist – and where – about your family’s black sheep.”
